November 2006 -January 2007

At its November meeting the Council learned from the Parish Plan Steering Group that a six-month extension had been granted for the production of a Parish Plan and that a revised timetable of activities was being produced, details of which were presented to the Council at its January meeting.

At the invitation of the Chairman, the two members of the IW Fire Service present at the November meeting outlined proposed changes to the structure and operation of the IW fire service, and their concerns arising therefrom. At its January meeting the Council agreed to support the “status quo” option.

At the December meeting the Chairman stated that favourable comments regarding the conduct and proceedings of the Parish Council had been received from the member of the Standards Committee who had attended the November meeting, and Mrs Draper advised the meeting that the proposed development of the Memorial Garden, including the ramp providing access for disabled users, had now been approved by the IWC Planning Authority.

The January meeting opened with a discussion with PC 3544  N.Massey, local “Beat Officer” for the Parish, who explained his role and stated that he hoped to maintain regular contact with the Council.

Seven Planning Applications were considered by the Council at its November meeting, four at its December meeting, and five at its January meeting.
