Recommendations from the Parish Hall “working group” to help improve the
visual appearance of the interior of the Hall were agreed in principle. A report
was received about activity described as “woodland management” that had
taken place on land to the north and in the vicinity of Hill Farm, and it was
agreed to convey the Council’s concern about the way this matter had been
handled to Natural England as the responsible agency.
The July monthly meeting was preceded by the annual
inspection of the Parish Cemetery, which found no serious problems, just the
need for tidying of some hedges and the cutting down of bracken. During public
question time a parishioner enquired about plans for the future of the
churchyard garden: it was arranged to include this as an agenda item at a later
meeting.
The Council resolved to adopt the revised Code of Conduct. The Clerk reported
that the owner of one parcel of land that the Council had identified at its June
meeting as possibly being suitable for a recreation space at Winford was not
currently wishing to sell it. Four Planning Applications were considered to
which it was agreed to make no objection.
