bullet

Alverstone Village Natural History Club is open to all Alverstone and other Isle of Wight residents who have an interest, although not necessarily any great knowledge, in natural history.

bulletEveryone is welcome to come along to see what we do.
bulletThe group normally meet once a month on the first Wednesday at 2.30pm in Alverstone Village Hall.
bulletSpeakers, with specialist knowledge are, are invited in the winter months, and visits are arranged to venues of interest in the summer. These venues may be Isle of Wight wildlife or environmental centres or walks in the countryside, hoping to see specific animals, birds or plants.
bulletTo cover expenses (such as the hire of the hall and speakers' fees) and refreshments, a small charge is requested, currently £1.00 pre person per session.
bulletThe club is friendly and run quite informally.
bulletIt was founded by Faith Day some 15 years ago. It is currently lead by John Ralph with Linda Fuller as treasurer, with experienced help from Mrs. Day!
bulletThe club is affiliated to the Newchurch Parish Sports and Community Association which provides links to the wider Parish community and gives the club a voice with the larger association to further the cause of conservation and wildlife.
