Newchurch Drama Group

The Drama group meets in the Community Hall, Newchurch on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm. If anyone would like to join the group then come to the Community Hall, Newchurch on a Thursday at 7.30pm or contact one of the officers below.

25 years

The Drama Group is celebrating its 25th year of its foundation in 2006.

Originally the WI Drama Group was started in the late 1950's performing pageants to entertain its members, later concerts were arranged with them and the WI Newchurch Ladies Choir (now the Newchurch Ladies Choir) along with the Mens' Choir.

In 1980 they decided to set up a new group to enable them to recruit man and women and thus get away from performing "ladies" only plays.

This group today performs at least 3 times a year and continues to be a source of entertainment for the community and beyond.

Over the past four years they have received many nominations for their work.
