October 2004

At the September monthly meeting the Clerk reported on progress that had been made in respect of actions that had been identified as necessary during the inspection of the Cemetery and Churchyard. Two Planning Applications were considered to which it was decided to make no objection.

After studying floor plans of the proposed layout for the refurbishment of the Parish Hall, which would provide kitchen and toilet facilities, including one toilet for use by disabled persons, attached to the Hall itself, it was agreed to ask the architect to proceed with detailed construction plans.

The Council was faced with a list of no fewer than forty-four (44) items of correspondence! It resolved to make a contribution of £50 towards the Marie Curie Cancer Care "Field of Hope" Appeal and to approve the exceptional timing of this charitable donation (such matters are normally dealt with at the May meeting). In response to two enquiries regarding the erection of kerbstones on graves, it was agreed to include a review of Cemetery Fees and Regulations on the agenda for the October meeting.
